The Down and Dirty Marketing, Godfather Principles and Accounting & Finance for Custom-made Nursing Bras Businesses 3 CD Power Pack

It does sound a little strange to say "remember to breathe" during labour, but you'll be surprised how often we hold our breath in day-to-day activities, let alone while giving birth.

When you're experiencing any sort of discomfort, the immediate reaction is to hold your breath. This will cause you far more discomfort, as well as making you light headed, unfocused and increase your experience of pain as well as making you stressed and irritable.

To force your breath while experiencing any discomfort or intense feeling will also create muscle tension, even if you're trying to breathe deeply. The ideal way to breathe during labour is to focus on your breathing. You don't need to try to change your breath, just make sure you are breathing and stay focused on that. Pay attention to what part of your body you are breathing in to; your upper chest, your belly and the sides of your belly. Once you're focusing on your breath it will naturally and automatically start to change and become more relaxed, full and deep. Whenever your attention goes to something else, bring your focus back to your breathing.

Putting your attention to your breath throughout labour will help you through the contractions and help you to rest in between. You can also practise this breathing through the second stage of labour, as your baby is passing through your birth canal, inbetween pushing. The old fashioned teachings of panting to try and stop yourself from pushing is now out-dated. Practise panting now and see how you feel. You're likely to become very light-headed and feel disorientated; not something you want if you'd like to get the most out of your Joyful Birth. By breathing in a relaxed, deep and focused way, as described above, you'll reduce your experience of discomfort and increase your feelings of empowerment and control.

Practise focusing on your breathing throughout your pregnancy; both you and your baby will benefit. You'll find that you will be more relaxed and calm and once you go into labour you'll be well practised at breathing correctly.

When the underwire isn't quite right many are surprised how great the softcup works and supports for them! The cups are sized right on but the bands are a tad generous.

Customer Review: Great Plus Sized Fit and Support!
This is a great bra! When you're large busted support is a MUST and a good bra is hard enough to find let alone a good Nursing bra - but this bra is ideal! It's the most comfortable nursing bra I have and I'm ordering 3 more! I can wear it all day and not have any pain, even the shoulder straps are thick and cushioned. The only negative thing about it is that the clasp is almost too easy to open. It's definitely a one handed clasp, but I've had it open several times just from having my purse strap press against it or touching it by accident. I've learned to work around it though and do not feel that it enough of a downside to make be not love this bra. Overall comfort and support is superior and no seam show through clothes! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great bra you can wear all day with any type of shirt.
Customer Review: Good Bra, but the Breasteses Won
The girls were confused when I first put this bra on - suddenly, they had a much perkier view of the world...how exciting! The straps annoy: the wide part is strangely about a 1/4 inch away from the snaps and about an inch away from the top of my shoulder. Nobody is made that way, to get that danged wide part on my shoulder would mean my breasts belong somewhere above the armpits. I also had to stitch the sides closed when the underwire came sneaking out for some fresh air, but I didn't care! The girls were HIGH on life UP there! I wore it everywhere! Alas, the breasteses won the battle of location location location. 6 months of wearing the bra, I leaned in to pick the babe up from his crib and *POP*, the underwire on the left side broke. In half. My girls felt betrayed. I do like the bra, and I'll probably buy again for the next child, and maybe selectively wear it so I don't wear it out, after all I think it's holding something like 5 lbs on each side. That could break anyone's back, I should know. Really 3.5 stars because I paid a lot for 6 months of a bra, but couldn't do that, so rounded UP. Plus, I could have had a beige size 40F lemon. Yuck. Lemonade flavored milk?

Lansinoh 20265 Disposable Nursing Pads, 60-Count Boxes (Pack of 3)

Breastfeeding mothers know that let-down can occur at the most inopportune times. It can be triggered by missing a scheduled feeding, hearing a baby crying (whether your own or someone else's), or even just thinking about your baby. And, of course, leaks always seems to happen when you're in the middle of an important business presentation or wearing your best silk dress at a friend's wedding. These extra absorbent disposable nursing pads have a soft, comfortable lining that rests against the skin. The lining draws excess moisture away from skin and into a polymer core in the center. A laminated waterproof lining against your clothing prevents milk from getting any further. The pads are incredibly thin (2 mm) and contoured like a breast, so they don't look stiff or unnatural under clothing. Adhesive tape on the back of each pad secures it to undergarments to keep it from shifting during the day. Each pad comes individually wrapped for hygienically transporting them in a briefcase or diaper bag. --Cristina Vaamonde

The Tummy Tuck procedure, medically known as an abdominoplasty is a major surgical procedure to tighten loose skin and help remove stretch marks below the navel. Involving a major incision, the tummy tuck is a very serious operation, and should not be considered lightly as a cosmetic surgery. In this article we will look at some of the key features of the procedure, and the best way to approach your treatment.

Before you consider any surgical procedure, it is imperative that you consult with a qualified physician to determine your physical suitability. He will be most capable of offering recommendations as to the likelihood of infection, and the chances of success of the procedure.

He or she will also be able to answer any questions you might have regarding the surgical procedure or the preparation for the treatment, which can be helpful in alleviating any doubts or worries in your mind. Furthermore, a physician will be able to explain to you the best ways to ensure a quick recovery from your procedure, to avoid prolonging the period unnecessarily.

It is also important to have the physician check out your health in general to see if you are physically fit enough to have the procedure, or whether this could cause problems due to some underlying healthy condition. In preparing for the procedure, you should also refrain from smoking for 4-6 weeks prior, and make sure you get a good night's sleep the night before. It may also be sensible to arrange for transport from the hospital after you're free to go.

The procedure itself involves a large incision just above the pubic area spanning from hip to hip. The surgeon will also make an incision in the belly button to allow him to move it into a suitable position after the tuck. The surgeon will simply lift the flap of skin and pull it taught, before cutting off any excess and stitching up the wound. Unfortunately, the extensive nature of the treatment makes it susceptible to infection and further illness, so this is a procedure which must always be handled with care, and considered as a last resort.

After the procedure it is important to maintain a healthy diet and continue not to smoke. Within 6 to 8 months you should be fully recovered and able to take part in moderate to intensive exercise, which again will help avoid infection and complications in the years to come.

The best home remedy for yeast infections is a matter of debate among the thousands of books and web sites that address this popular topic. Women all over the world suffer with yeast infections, and some of them get this condition several times a year.

Yeast infections in women are typically centered in the vagina (though they can also appear on the skin and in the mouth), and cause intense itching, a foul odor, and an unsightly discharge. It's embarrassing to have a yeast infection, not to mention uncomfortable.

In order to avoid the high cost of doctor visits and over-the-counter medications, many women look for inexpensive home remedies. There's no shortage of advice on this topic.

Some advice is more valuable than others, and some advice is simply scary and dangerous. If you want to get rid of the awful symptoms of yeast infection right away, here's one home remedy that really works.

Buy several containers of pure, live yogurt. The yogurt must be in its natural state, with nothing added. If there is any sugar in the yogurt to sweeten it, this will only irritate your vagina and make your yeast infection worse.

The yogurt must be full of live acidophilus bacteria, as well. Soak a cotton tampon in the yogurt (an organic cotton tampon is best, if you can find it), then insert it into your vagina for up to six hours. Repeat this up to two times a day, for up to five days in a row, until the symptoms of the yeast infection go away.

Never leave the yogurt in for more than six hours, as this could also make the infection worse.

Once the symptoms are gone, you'll want to work on addressing the cause of your infection, so that you don't get another one. Yeast can lay dormant in your body for years after the symptoms of the infection are gone.

There is also a highly safe and natural way to kill dormant yeast spores once and for all, and this method starts to work right away.

Customer Review: cute but uncomfortable
very nice looking but the inside mesh lining is so itchy and uncomfortable! i live in a very humid climate and it was just unbearable. I would recommend going with the Bravado nursing tank instead.
Customer Review: Great nursing tank
I wore this tank the day we brought our baby home. For a new nursing mom it's great--a little hard to unsnap the straps with one hand. I like that there's room to insert a nursing pad.

There are so many different styles, types and fabrics of lingerie available today that it can be difficult to say what one laundering method works best for all lingerie. In the old days everything was very similar and hand washing with a mild detergent was the best option to keep all your lingerie in top condition. It is much more difficult these days to know which type of lingerie requires which type of washing cycle and which cannot be machine washed at all. It really depends on what kind of fabric and how delicate it is. While the majority of manufacturers put labels on your garments that describe what laundering method to use, you cannot be sure they have your best interests at heart. After all, the sooner the garment wears out, the sooner you have to buy another and the more money they make. If they make their product last forever, they will not be in business long. Remember the infomercial for the indestructible pantyhose? You don't see those anymore do you? Enough said.

Synthetic fabrics like rayon and polyester can be washed in the delicate cycle of your washing machine with a fabric softener instead of detergent. Detergent can be too harsh and diminish the color and vibrancy of your lingerie. Most lingerie items are delicate because of the lace, wires, padding and other materials that will not hold up to aggressive agitation or high temperatures. The factory stitching is not created to endure repeated washing and drying that may make the thread fragile and make the garment fall apart. For some synthetic lingerie items, drying is not a problem. You can just toss the items of lingerie into the dryer on the cool or low heat cycle for a short cycle. These items don't lose their shape or contour when you dry them. This is one of the best types of lingerie to have if you are not the kind of person who likes to sort laundry and hates to hand wash.

Even though cotton is the most commonly used fabric few people know how to properly launder it. The mistakes are most noticeable in the changes to blue jeans and t-shirts. The blue jeans shrink and the t-shirts seem to get shorter and stouter. It is the amount of cotton in the item and whether or not it has been pre-shrunk that determines what cycle and temperature should be used. One of the best things about cotton lingerie is its breathability. Another thing is that it is very resilient. Any percentage of cotton can be safely washed in warm or cold water. The dryer temperature seems to the biggest threat to your favorite piece of lingerie. Lingerie that has a cotton blend consisting of around 50% is likely to shrink vertically and expand horizontally when exposed to high heat drying. This is not something that will accentuate the sex appeal. There is nothing more uncomfortable and unattractive than having a teddy ride up in the crouch and get baggy around your mid-section. Not a pretty visualization, huh? You will be better off by machine washing on delicate with cool or slightly warm water and then hanging or laying them out on a flat surface to dry. Fabric softener will eliminate the stiffness associated with line drying.

Very delicate silk items can be dry cleaned or even better, hand washed. Hand washing is less expensive and doesn't require taking your "unmentionables" out in public. You should use either wool-lite or some other mild detergent to avoid damaging the fabric. Put the lingerie into a sink filled with a small amount of the detergent and some cool or gently warmed water and let it soak for a few minutes. Gently swish it around without causing too much friction. Rinse with slightly warm water and roll into a towel and gently pat and squeeze it dry. Put the lingerie into a second towel and repeat the procedure. You should not allow silk to air dry as that will lead to yellowing. To dry silk, careful use of an iron is preferred. Smooth over the item with a medium/hot iron while it is still moist. This will dry the lingerie and make it feel smooth and smell fresh. Make sure you allow it to cool on a flat surface before wearing.

With a little knowledge and care your expensive lingerie items will last for many years to come. This will allow you to purchase more to add variety and not just to make the manufacturers richer.

Time Management Tips For Custom-made Nursing Bras Online Business Success

A person can be described as allergic if they are hypersensitive to a given thing which could be food, animal fur, some sprays or deodorants, dust, pollen grains and some farm chemicals and weeds among others. As such people are supposed to identify what causes their allergic reactions and keep a distance.

Yeast allergy is no different at all and well just like the rest forms of allergic reactions, it can choose to disturb some brothers and sisters while leaving the rest who are lucky enough at peace. If you could be the person not spared whatsoever by this yeast allergy then you agree with me that there is a lot you have got to do in terms of prevention of the same. We can essentially draw no line of comparison between the yeast allergy and yeast infection because it is all about going round and round over the same thing. As a result the signs that you are likely to witness when you are experiencing this yeast allergy could most likely resemble those of yeast infection.

Yeast allergy could show up in form of painful rashes on your skin around your vaginal part or any other part of your body including the thrash at your mouth. Ideally one must make sure that they check what they put in there belly every time they feel hungry since such foods as milk products go sour very fast and the yeast fungi thrives very first in them. To some people, drinking sour milk or eating fermented porridge is not a problem while to some this can just mark the beginning of their nightmare. I believe even the fatty and greasy foods are easy targets of yeast allergy bacteria especially if such foods are not fresh.

The best food not only to combat yeast allergy include the whole meals such as the brown wheat floor, whole grain floor, brown rice coupled with almost all types of fruits and green leafy vegetables, the liver, lean meat. If you get the yeast allergy anyway you could try using garlic juice to rub on the rash or even use cold tea as a douche for thrush. When the yeast allergy appears as athlete foot in between your toes, make some natural cream with marigold that acts as anti-inflammatory, wound healing and antiseptic. You could also try a mixture of lemon and honey to fight off that yeast allergy inside the vagina or the bladder.

If the natural part is a hassle for you then don't hesitate to see the doctor to give you some possible and workable prescriptions. He can as well give you a piece of advice on how well to put your lifestyle to avoid too much suffering. At personal level cub that yeast allergy by making sure that you avoid those condoms that cause allergic reactions to some people. You might as well avoid many sexual partners without safety because you may not know who among them is actually carrying the yeast fungi.

Its also important to be clean in your body and wearing clean and comfortable clothing which do not generate the yeast allergy or aggravate it.Some garments such as wool are criticized for causing serious allergic reactions to some people,so be careful when buying clothes.

NuAngel Bra Extenders - 3 Hook Assorted

NuAngel Bra Extenders, three per package. Extenders add up to three inches to the bra providing comfort and extended bra use.
Customer Review: Great solution
These are great, comfortable, and very affordable. Great solution to not having to spend loads of money to buy new bras during pregnancy. I even hooked two extenders together. Very fast shipping from the seller too.

Nursing your new born baby is the most important thing you can do for your child. The milk you provide is the exact formula he will need to stay healthy and grow. This is something you don't get when you formula feed your newborn.

Some women find it hard to nurse and this could be due to the wrong nursing bra. It's also possible she is wearing a regular bra instead of a nursing bra. This is not good especially for new moms. The experience should be pleasant and comfortable, but it's not when your bra doesn't work properly.

The first time you get a nursing bra, you really should consider going to a maternity store. They will have the ability to measure you correctly and they will also have the knowledge to know what size you should go with to have the perfect fit. Once you are fitted you will be able to purchase your next nursing bra at a clothing store. You should consider being measured with each pregnancy because your body can change.

Nursing bras come in many different styles. You need to be comfortable with your bra so you need to decide what will work best for you. Consider the style you wore before you got pregnant. If you wore an underwire before, you may want to go with an underwire now. Most of the time the cup itself will have a latch of some sort that will easily come apart when it's time to nurse. Not only will this make it easier for you to feed in public, but it will also make it a quicker process.

When you purchase your nursing bra you will want to purchase at least two but three or four would be better. There are several reasons for this. When you are nursing there are times where you will leak a small amount of milk. This will dry on your bra and make it hard and not comfortable to wear. Another reason why you will want more than one is the baby may be a little messy or spit up a little and it may get on your bra. You need to remember that it's important that you are comfortable and wearing a wet bra is not very comfortable.

One way to prevent your bra from getting wet from a leak is to wear nursing pads. You can get these at any grocery store and you will be happy you did. The pad will absorb the leak and it will not get on your bra. I suggest carrying at least two sets in a plastic bag in your purse. It may also be a good idea to put two sets in your diaper bag. You never know when you will have an accident.

Nursing your baby is so important for his health and it's good for your health as well. Purchasing a nursing bra will make nursing so much easier. It will be one of the best investments you will make.

Medela Comfort Maternity Nursing Bra - White - Large

Customer Review: Live and learn
These bras run a little small, and they are very tight when you first get them (like pantyhose). So order a bigger size than you think you need. Also, I'm not crazy about the straps. They show at the neck even under tshirts, and they sit right on your shoulder muscle. I always seem to get a headache when I wear it, and I think it is from the constant pressing on that muscle. Why three stars? I think if I had gotten a larger size, then the muscle problem would not have been so bad. And it is pretty comfortable and very easy to nurse from. I sure wish I could have traded it out with a bigger size to see.

Breastfeeding is the feeding of an infant or young child with milk from a woman's breasts. Breastfeeding can be enjoyable for both you and your baby.

Breast milk is easy to digest and contains antibodies that can protect infants from bacterial and viral infections. Breast engorgement is caused by congestion of the blood vessels in the breast. The breasts are swollen, hard, and painful. Breast milk has the right amount and quality of nutrients to suit your baby's first food needs. Breastfeeding (nursing) your baby can be a comfortable and relaxing experience, though nipple soreness should be expected, especially during the first weeks of breastfeeding. Breast fullness is the gradual accumulation of blood and milk in the breast a few days after birth and is a sign that your milk is coming in.

Breast fullness doesn't impair efficient breastfeeding because the breast tissues can be easily compressed by the baby's mouth. Breast infections most commonly occur in mothers who are stressed, exhausted, have cracked nipples, plugged milk ducts, breast engorgement, who have skipped feedings. A breast infection (mastitis) causes flu-like symptoms such as aching muscles, fever, and a red, hot, tender area on one breast. Breast infections most commonly occur in mothers who are stressed and exhausted, have cracked nipples, plugged milk ducts or breast engorgement, have skipped feedings, or wear a tight bra. Symptoms of yeast infection in the mother are deep, pink nipples that are tender or uncomfortable during and immediately after nursing.

Because lingerie is made of fabrics that are lightweight and delicate in nature, there is a proper way to care for very delicate garments. As for the lingerie that you wash, whether by machine or by hand, it is first necessary to remove any stains. In addition, it is good to keep in mind that delicate lingerie will last longer if you strive to keep their fiber strength. Two tips on that: When hand-washing, treat the garment gently and do not wring or twist it too much. Secondly, rinse everything thoroughly so that you remove all traces of soap or detergent.

There is some lingerie that is dry-clean only. Synthetic or man-made fabrics such as nylon and polyester are economical, easily washed and quite versatile in their uses. Because underwear can hold odor and "skid" marks, proper washing will give you the confidence you deserve with your delicate lingerie and underwear. When underwear is washed with a load of clothes that is too large, they do not come clean. Check to see if you are overloading the wash that has your intimate apparel.

To clean lingerie, there are the little lingerie bags that can protect your delicates in the laundry. The nylon bag has a zipper and you put your delicates in the bag, zip it and then put the bag in the washer. The bag is excellent for protecting nylon hosiery too. You can get a fine comfortable fit from lingerie of any fabric. Elegant and flowing lingerie if worn properly, with confidence, the material may not be that important. A woman should keep in mind that yeast infections may be caused by clothing. Pantyhose, tight fitting jeans and underwear made of synthetic fibers can be culprits. Undergarments can promote sweating and will not allow air to circulate. For this reason, clean your underwear and intimate apparel thoroughly.

Comfort Line - Light Support Bra - Black Large

Customer Review: Really Comfortable, But Made for "Traditional" Bodies
I love this bra, don't get me wrong... I have one and plan to buy one or two more. It's great not only for wearing at night, but I wear mine around the house as a top (although I will readily admit that it's not the sexiest) and it's extremely comfortable. My problem is that it isn't adjustable enough. I have a small frame and very large breasts (34DD), and the bra doesn't seem to fit quite right. The elastic band sort of bunches on top while the cups are a little small. I'm sure that if your body is more proportionate (eg. 34C or 36D, etc.) this would be the best bra ever. This truly is a light support bra and doesn't really cut it outside the house for large-breasted women, unless you're going for the sagging look!

It used to be a challenge to be a pregnant plus-size woman. Fortunately both local stores and online shops now stock plus size maternity clothes. If you look carefully you also should be able to find good sales on maternity clothes that will help you maintain a budget. Keep in mind that, after all, these are only temporary clothes.

You needed rush out to buy plus size maternity clothes the moment you become pregnant. The biggest changes in your body are generally still several months off. One notable exception, though, may be your bra size, since breasts tend to enlarge much sooner than does the waistline. A smart shopper will invest now in nursing bras, instead of just buying larger sized regular bras. Nursing bras will give you the support you will need through pregnancy, and be very useful once your baby arrives.

A professional fitting is a must if you are pregnant because your old bras will no longer fit. Buy only one or two bras at a time because your size will continue to change throughout your pregnancy. You may also want to look for a comfortable bra to use while you sleep because you may find you need round the clock support while you are pregnant.

Don't start buying and wearing maternity clothes until you absolutely have to. If you start wearing too many plus size maternity clothes when you first learn you're pregnant, you will get very tired of them by the end of the pregnancy. A plus size dress is made with extra give room which may be fine in early months but too tight towards the end of the pregnancy. After delivery you will want to continue wearing maternity clothing for awhile, especially if you will be nursing.

Simple, classic, easy to care for clothes are excellent wardrobe choices for a pregnant woman. Plus size maternity clothes which can be tossed in a home washer and dried in a home dryer definitely fit into this category. A woman can care for them easily and this is really important during the nine months of pregnancy when she is often tired much of the time. Her wardrobe will seem much more attractive and chic when it doesn't wear her out even more.

Plus size maternity clothing is more difficult to find and will cost more than other maternity clothing. You will want to try on maternity clothing in a store to determine the fit. Then, if you like, you can comparison shop for the same items online to see if you can find discounts. You will be able to find lots of websites offering discounts and clearance sales. In fact, the larger department stores often offer a better selection of plus size clothing, both regular and maternity, online than they do in their stores.

Remember that regular clothing with a loose fit or that has elastic or a drawstring at the waist will also work well into your pregnancy. This option is also more economical as it will be something that you can also use after your pregnancy, as well as saving you money now. Being a BBW doesn't have to mean that you can't find nice plus size maternity clothes.

Playtex Soft Bottle Liners, 4 oz 100 liners

One thing is for sure─when you have a baby you must be super organised. And your diaper bag (also called a nappy or baby bag) is going to become one of your best friends! You are going to be carrying it 24/7 so its essential that you are happy with the bag you choose.

Gone are the days when you could fly out the door, teeny-tiny purse or bag in hand. Now youve got kids, organising your diaper bag is a serious task.

A well-organised diaper bag is going to make your life a lot easier. Keep it organised (and simple) and trips out with baby will be a breeze!

Top Tips

Always have a diaper bag that is packed and ready to go. Obviously, youll need to organise and update regularly but I found having one that was in an accessible place and organised was great if I had a last-minute or unexpected place to go or errand to run.

Think about practicality. Obviously, its great to look hip and stylish but if your diaper bag is a hindrance, rather than a help then you can waste a lot of money.

Have a special diaper bag for daddy. We bought a non-gender specific style for my husband. I make sure this is always organized and replenished so that hes always ready to go!

Choose a bag that you will be happy to use even after your baby is out of diapers. Diaper bags are great for general use as well. (I love the pockets!)

Medela Sleep Nursing Bra

Customer Review: Good overall
Pros: It works as intended Keeps pads in place Folds back easily for nursing Comfortable once you get used to it Cons: Fairly cheaply made (elastic frayed after 1 wash) Poor policies...YOU MUST KEEP ALL TAGS ON THE PRODUCT AND NOT WASH IT AT ALL IF YOU NEED TO RETURN IT. ALSO, RETURN IT IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING. Rides up rather high. When I first bought it, the elastic didn't even come down all the way under the chest for support. Overall, the product is good; it works for what my needs are. I wish there were several others at decent prices so I could compare. I've had this for 6 months and use it on and off.
Customer Review: Good but will wear out.
I purchased one of these bras when I first began to notice my breasts getting sore at the beginning of pregnancy. I wanted something to support me at night as I "enlarged". It's a comfy bra, and provided good support, but after 7 months of near every-night wear, I will say that it has a shrunk a bit in the wash, and the seams are starting to unravel. I suppose I've been harder on it than most, but I've definately given it a good test. Overall I would recommend it to anyone willing to pay this much for a single bra. (I do think it's over-priced) But I'm sure I'll be purchasing another one or two to get me through nursing.

In preparation for labor and birth it is a good idea to learn your options for pain relief. You should also find how to reach your health care provider if you go into labor. Find out at what point in labor you should call.

Visit the hospital or birthing center sometime before you reach the last few weeks of pregnancy. You should note:

Directions to the hospital or birthing center

Where to park

Where to check-in

Pre-register if you can so your insurance information is already in the computer when you arrive

What are the signs of labor?

Contractions that come at regular and increasingly shorter intervals. The contractions should become stronger over time.

Lower back pain that does not go away or cramping pains that feel like premenstrual

Water breaks (can be a large gush or a continuous trickle)

A Bloody (brownish or red-tinged) mucous discharge, which is probably the mucous plug that blocks the cervix. This usually means your cervix is dilating or opening up, becoming thinner and softer. Labor may start right away or it may still be days away.

When choosing where to deliver you should contact your insurance company to find out what options are available. In general the options include:

Hospitals

Birth centers

At home

If you choose a hospital or birth center there are most likely Lamaze classes and breastfeeding support.

The most advanced medical equipment and highly trained doctors for pregnant women and their babies are available in a hospital.

Who should give birth in a hospital setting?

Women with health problems

Women with pregnancy complications

Women who are at risk for problems during labor and delivery

If you or the baby is in danger a doctor in the hospital can do a cesarean section and you can receive epidurals or many other pain relief options in a hospital setting.

It is important to note that doctors and midwives have admitting privileges at certain hospitals. Before you choose a doctor or midwife find out their affiliated hospital. Other things you might consider when choosing a hospital include:

How close is the hospital to your home?

Is an anesthesiologist available 24 hours a day?

Are you comfortable in the labor and delivery rooms?

Are private rooms available?

How many visitors are allowed into the room with you?

Does the hospital have neonatal intensive care units in case of serious problems with the baby?

Where does the baby stay after delivery?

Does the hospital have an on-site birth center?

At hospitals with on-site birth centers you can choose to deliver your baby in a comfortable, intimate setting. If problems arise, you and your baby have the security of already being in the hospital.

Anita Microfiber Underwire Nursing Bra Style 5041

Modern, stretch lace with extra soft finish on the skin side, makes this Anita Nursing Bra a real treat. It shows a functional microfiber back and preformed seamless cups for extra sensitive breasts. It also has Kwikklip for easy opening and features the Anita Memo to mark the side last used for breastfeeding.
Customer Review: Thank goodness for this bra!!!
I was looking for a comfortable and attractive nursing bra in a large size (I'm a 38E! Yikes!) and I have found it!!! This bra is very comfortable, attractive, and so worth the extra money! Most bras (nursing or not) for larger breasted women are matronly and make you feel like you're wearing body armor. But this bra is great! I'd even recommend it to non-nursing larger breasted women. I was nervous ordering bras online, but this one has exceeded my expectations. The underwire is soft enough that when I fold the cup down to nurse, it does not dig into my ribcage like so many other nursing bras with underwires, but still provides comfortable support. The little 'memo' tab to mark which side to nurse from next is really helpful as well. I'm very happy with this bra, I even bought two (in black and skin), and if they had it in my size in white I'd buy another! :D
Customer Review: The Best Nursing Bra
After three children and trying perhaps a dozen different nursing bras I have to say that this is overall the best nursing bra I have ever owned. It is fabulously functional. It is comfortable. It fits beautifully. And it's an attractive bra. Nursing pads fit easily into each cup during those early (leaky) days, but without the pads the bra provides plenty of support while allowing air to reach the breasts. I wish I'd found this bra after having my first child . . . but better late than never. This is a great product and is one that I am happy to recommend.

Breastfeeding advice abounds in parenting magazines, books, websites, and even free booklets from formula manufacturers. Some of the information is contradictory and some of it is just plain false. For instance, here are 3 bad pieces of advice and why they're bound to lead to problems.

1) Only nurse for XXX minutes per side

Fill in the blank here. It may be 5 minutes, 10 minutes or 15 minutes, but breastfeeding mothers are often told to watch the clock instead of watching their baby. Well meaning people (like the labor and delivery nurse who told me this after my oldest was born) say this because they think that soreness has to do with how long or how often baby nurses. It doesn't. Soreness has to do with HOW baby nurses.

So why is this poor advice?

Because babies can't tell time. A newborn may take 15 minutes to nurse on one breast, especially if he's (and you're) still learning the ropes. Don't set a time limit on your newborn's nursings. There is no such thing as non-nutritive sucking. Baby will always be rewarded with ounces or drops of milk for as long as he is at the breast.

In addition, the milk that baby gets at the end of the feeding, after the second letdown, is higher in fat and calories. Limiting time at the breast may, for some babies, lead to slow weight gain, fussiness, excessive gassiness and other problems.

2) Breastfed babies poop every day

While many young breastfed infants do have a dirty diaper every day, many don't. This has lead to much angst of the part of a poor Mom who thinks her baby is starving if he doesn't fill a diaper every day. Remember that breastmilk is digested completely and there is none or little "waste". Sometimes, especially during a period of rapid growth, your baby will skip days inbetween bowel movements. My second child went 8 days without a bowel movement once when he was a newborn, and I was concerned. When he did finally go, he made up in quantity what he lacked in frequency. If memory serves, several loads of laundry were needed to clean up the resulting mess!

If your baby is producing plenty of wet diapers, has no signs of dehydration and is gaining weight according to schedule, he's probably fine. The consistency of his movements rather than the frequency is a more accurate sign of constipation. Keep in mind that totally breastfed infants do not get constipated. If a baby who is eating some solids struggles to pass a hard stool, call your doctor or a breastfeeding consultant. And don't limit his time at the breast.

3) Don't let him use you for a pacifier

This is another well intentioned piece of advice in which the advice giver tries to lighten the load of the
breastfeeding mother, but it betrays a lack of understanding of the breastfeeding relationship.

Breastfed infants do not just nurse when they are hungry. They also nurse when they are thirsty, tired, over-stimulated, scared, hurt, coming down with an illness, lonely or bored. And that's ok. Frequent nursing keeps a mother's milk supply at a high level to meet baby's needs. A baby who suddenly wants to nurse "constantly" may be going through a growth spurt and is signaling to Mom to "send more milk!" in the most effective way possible. Or he may be teething or otherwise not feeling well.

Think about how you might feel if someone said that you shouldn't comfort your preschooler when they fell down and skinned their knee. A baby who uses the breast as a "pacifier" is no different that that older child, or a friend who calls you for a shoulder to cry on. It's called relationship.

Nursing is also pleasurable for babies. Sucking is a comfort and regulates the nervous system, and for the young infant, the best kind of sucking is the kind that takes place at the breast. Babies who are offered pacifiers tend to wean earlier than babies who don't take them.

Frequent nursing also has benefits for Mom. Levels of certain hormones are kept constant in her bloodstream, helping her to feel calmer, more impervious to stress, and happier. Frequent nursing also tends to keep fertility away, which may be a desirable side effect and also protects her health long term.

The bottom line? Listen to the baby and your own common sense, and listen less to the books and advice givers.

For quite some time, there have been concerns and many emails circulating the world with regards to lead content in cosmetics, and more particularly, lead in lipstick. Perhaps it would be best if lead were described and explained further.

Lead is a heavy metal just like mercury. Lead is poisonous. It accumulates in bone and soft tissues over time; it damages the nervous connections thereby causing brain and/or blood disorders, especially in children. Long term exposure to lead can cause nephropathy. The majority of adult elevated blood lead levels are at the workplace/workplace related. Lead exposure has been linked to schizophrenia. Lead is thought to affect women's fertility.

Which products can lead be found in?

In damaging amounts, lead can be found in vinyl (especially in electrical cords), brass that is manufactured in China, stoneware, as a coloring element in ceramic glazes, glazing bars of stained glass, in candles to treat the wick (supposedly North American and European manufacturers use zinc instead, but what about the importers?), in 2007 toys made in China were recalled because of the lead content in paint utilized, to name a few.

Health Canada claims that the levels of lead found in several lipsticks for sale within Canada do not pose a health risk for consumers. It was decided that lipskik be tested after a U.S. group (The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics) reported findings about lead in lipstick. Health Canada tested 26 products and found 21 of them contained lead. One lipstick contained 6.3 ppm (parts per million)! Canada uses 10ppm as its safety limit and the US, 5ppm. Any excess would require a safety-hazard warning.

Unfortunately for the consumers, Health Canada is not disclosing any brand names from their test results, as they deemed it CONFIDENTIAL.

As a consumer, are you not concerned about your health? Why then do Canada and other governments protect large corporations that could clearly affect our health? And if they feel that the levels are harmless, why then do they not let us choose for ourselves? Is it because large corporations need to be protected more that people. Do big companies and big money play a role in the decisions our governments make?

Scientific evidence claims there is NO SAFE LEVEL of LEAD in the blood. Obviously, one application every so often is probably harmless, but consider how often lipstick is applied each day! Consider that lead builds up in the blood and does not disappear, ever.

For most women, the onset of menopause is faced with dread thanks to the countless rumors and misinformation surrounding the issue. Who would welcome the change when it brings with it such discomforting symptoms such as hot flashes, wrinkles, weight gain, depression, anxiety, vaginal dryness and the eventual loss of sex drive? However, most of these symptoms have nothing to do with menopause and are merely signs of the natural aging process. And despite all of the horror stories that cloud the realities of this life-changing event, there are just a handful of symptoms directly associated with menopause - hot flashes and vaginal dryness.

Scientifically speaking, menopause is a period of transition whereby a woman experiences changes in her monthly period until it eventually ceases. This transition period usually lasts for five years (two years before the last menstrual period and three years after it). Most women go through menopause between the ages 45 and 53 with some women experiencing it a little earlier or a little later than most. It is also interesting to note that most women go through the change at about the same age her mother did!

While it is true that menopause can cause some inconveniences such as hot flashes and profuse sweating, these can easily be dealt with by making a few lifestyle changes. Check out these suggestions to help you cope up with these symptoms:

Wear appropriate clothing. Almost 80% of all women going through menopause experience periods of sudden, intense heat and profuse sweating. These episodes are most commonly known as flushes or hot flashes and they occur as a natural reaction to significantly decreased estrogen levels in the body. To keep your cool under these situations, it would be wise to wear loose clothing that can be easily removed.

Cool it down. Spritzing your face with cool water can bring enormous relief from hot flashes. Simply fill an ordinary squeeze bottle with cool water and use it to help bring your body temperature down! Another option is to blot your face with a cool washcloth or a moist towelette to douse the heat. You can also keep your cool by carrying a small personal fan with you wherever you go! Some good choices are inexpensive wood or paper fans or battery powered personal fans that are small enough to fit right into your purse.

Stay away from caffeine and alcohol. Hot flashes or flushes can sometimes be triggered by caffeine and/or alcohol. So, if you are one of those women who seem to experience such symptoms after consuming alcohol and/or caffeine, it would be better to avoid them completely. Remember that you can always shift to decaffeinated coffee or non-caffeinated tea instead. Another reason to avoid caffeine excessive caffeine intake depletes your bodys calcium reserve by prompting the kidneys to excrete more and more calcium through the urine. If left unchecked, this can lead to bone thinning; which is another symptom associated with menopause.

You do not have to fret about the onset of menopause. In fact, nobody who knows the correct information regarding the change should ever worry. Menopause is but a natural phase in life that every woman must go through. Just take it easy and you will be delighted to find the doorway to a more exciting and more challenging period of life ahead of you!

Johnsons Nursing Pads - 60 Each

Johnsons Nursing Pads Super absorbent core: Special polymer pulls and locks moisture away from skin for longer lasting dryness - healthier for your skin. Its nutritional content makes it the ideal food for a healthy, growing baby.JOHNSON'S Nursing Pads are designed for confident protection and complete discretion.
Customer Review: I am very pleased with these and highly recommend them.
These pads are the fourth brand I've tried, after Lansinoh and Gerber Ultra-Thin (both disposables) and some washable cloth pads (I forget the brand), and in my experience these are the absolute best. Each type of pad I tried prior had pros and cons, but I have no complaint at all about the Johnson's pads. I'm wearing them for both day and night, and even after wearing one set all night my bra, shirt, and skin were dry despite the pads being completely saturated. With the other brands, I regularly woke up with everything wet. Regarding daytime wear, I occasionally leaked around the Gerber pads and the cloth pads, as they were relatively small and also did not stay in place; the Lansinoh pads were larger in diameter and had adhesive to keep them in place, but I sometimes leaked through them. Neither of those situations has occurred with the Johnson's pads. These pads have remained in place flawlessly, even without using the adhesive strip, and they are not noticeable under my clothing. They feel so completely comfortable that I am able to forget they are there. They can contain a much larger amount of moisture, and they are soft and perfectly shaped for me. The only thing I would change about the Johnson's pads would be to have them individually wrapped like the Lansinoh pads, so that I can carry a spare set in my purse. In light of all the good things about this pad, though, that's a very minor concern.
Customer Review: Great
These are the best nursing pads I have found so far - soft, absorbent & they breathe...

Pregnancy brings in joy with the ever-increasing waistline, pains and aches. The body undergoes a tremendous change due to shifting of hormones. The skin changes, there are stretch marks and dark patches on the facial skin. Weight gain results in sleeping troubles, poor digestion, frequent urination, constipation etc. These are just a few symptoms of pregnancy. Since these changes take place gradually, one starts adjusting to them in anticipation of the joy it will bring after nine months. It is very important to maintain the pregnancy health and go through the process with a relaxed and happy state of mind.

Maintaining Pregnancy Health

With the onset of early signs of pregnancy, prepare yourself for the new changes in your life. Stay happy and comfortable. Consult your doctor for any problems and adjust your lifestyle to surmount the initial irritating body changes with more rest and relaxation. Follow a few tips for better pregnancy health.

Tender breasts: Wear a soft, comfortable maternity or nursing bra with extra support. Apply heavy moisturizing cream to cracked nipples after washing with water only.

Dizziness: Expanding uterus puts pressure on blood vessels, plus the nausea and vomiting can make one feel dizzy or light headed. To overcome this problem, maintain pregnancy health with frequent but small meals. Avoid standing or sitting in one position for long, lay down on your left side to relax, stand up slowly and do not let your body get over heated.

Hemorrhoids: They too are caused due to increasing pressure on the rectal veins and constipation. To prevent hemorrhoids drink lots of fluids, take fiber rich food and do not strain the bowel while evacuating.

Leg cramps: As the body weight increases and change in metabolization takes place, the pressure on legs and feet increases. Eat low-fat calcium rich food, go for short walks, stretch and flex leg and foot muscles, use heating pads to ease the leg cramps.

Swelling: A significant weight gain during pregnancy can result in swelling and puffiness. It could be a sign of high blood pressure or toxemia, consult the doctor immediately. To avoid swelling and to maintain a good pregnancy health, avoid salty foods and caffeine. Rest with your feet elevated and drink at least eight glasses of water to keep your body hydrated.

Teeth and gum problems: Maintain good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth regularly; avoid eating sweets and take high calcium diet. Oral bacteria due to gum disease can harm the fetus and result in either low-birth weight baby or premature delivery.

Similarly take all natural preventive measures to combat the various other changes in the body due to the pregnancy. Feel free to call your doctor in an event of vaginal discharge, bleeding, fever or chills, pain in abdomen or any abnormal discomfort. Good pregnancy health results in a happier you and healthier baby.
